Required Experience and Background:
• Demonstrated experience with relational database physical design
• Demonstrated experience with relational database performance tuning and capacity planning especially on MySQL based environments including reading and understanding EXPLAIN plans and performance metrics
• Experience with web application architectures including installing and troubleshooting on the LAMP stack
• 2-3 years of experience in scripting (Perl, Python, Ruby, JavaScript, etc)
• Min. BS Computer Science or equivalent
• Min. 5 years experience as a DBA or equivalent
• Experience with open source/Linux development and production

Job Responsibilities: We’re looking for someone who has a passion for and experience in the following:
- Identifying new potential customers via telemarketing, email and social media programs, building a pipeline while capturing important market information.
- Nurturing existing customer relationships, delivering contract renewals while identifying new business opportunities
- Effectively qualifying and converting leads to sales by applying extensive sales experience and Akiban product knowledge to solve the business needs of the customer.
- Collaborating with marketing, support, community management, product management and sales to facilitate new messages, campaigns, and offerings
- Providing sales management with forecasts and reports on sales activities and projects as requested
- Developing prospecting plans for territory development to build rapport and create opportunities
