Candidates will join a small, nimble team at a young company with extraordinary growth potential. As such, there is an opportunity to be involved in a wide range of activities associated with an internet start-up, as well as possibly managing others in the process.
Tasks will include the following:
- Planning and implementing marketing activities across all online and offline channels
- Writing new website content
- Social media management
- On-site merchandising
- Making sales calls and handling enquiries from the public
Hours for the role may vary from week to week and can be flexible. Later, a permanent role may be offered to the right candidate.
The candidate
Candidates should be self-starters, extremely flexible as far as tasks are concerned, and able to prioritise based on company needs while meeting tight deadlines. The successful candidate will fulfil the following additional criteria:
- Experience across multiple online marketing channels and a good understanding of methods to assess marketing ROI, or a willingness to learn
- A willingness to be a ‘jack-of-all-trades’ for the sake of being part of a forward-thinking start-up
- Honours degree (BA or equivalent)
- Experience in a related field, ideally with a start-up company
- Own laptop
- Highly internet savvy with active social media presence
- Ability to troubleshoot independently
- A desire to take a big part in the establishment of Pitchup.com as a modern, creative brand
- General administrative skills, as well as experience within a customer-facing sector
- Excellent communication skills (including phone manner)

The candidate
We're looking for an ambitious developer to join our friendly team (remote workers accepted), to help us manage our current site and tackle tough geo, online booking and search challenges.
- Expert in Python, with knowledge of at least one Python web framework and ideally GeoDjango experience
- Good level of experience with PostgreSQL
- Very strong Javascript skills
- Familiarity with nginx server environments and willingness to undertake sysadmin work
- A fan of agile working practices - gets things done
- A quick-on-the-uptake problem solver
- Enjoys coming up with new feature ideas

The role

- 'Owning' the commercial relationship with suppliers and optimising their performance on Pitchup.com
- Dealing with after-sales enquiries from suppliers, including complaints
- Assisting and training owners in updating campsite information on Pitchup.com
- Maximising accommodation allocation and best prices on Pitchup.com
- Editing campsite information
- Liaising with marketing team on promotional activity
- Planning and implementing sales strategy
Hours for the role may vary from week to week and can be flexible. Later, a permanent role may be offered to the right candidate. Some travel may be required.
